Lor O'Connor is a self-taught film photographer and a founding member of Low Light Darkroom. She began taking photos during Occupy Oakland in 2011. Unable to afford hourly darkroom rentals, she dedicated her time and resources to build an affordable, collective darkroom facility from the ground up. She is currently working on multiple series, focused on resistance to psychic death, colonial inheritance through the interrogation of ancestry, and documentation of loved ones moving away from the Bay Area.
This site functions as a drawing board for series in progress.
